This deep, rich shade of dark purple is known as wild orchid, having drawn the inspiration for the colour from the natural shade of deep purple shown by its namesake plant during bloom.

The colour is an attractive and long lasting option that can be used effectively in a wide range of designs to provide a passionate but natural colour, being dark enough to be used in large or small areas of a design either to fill an area without drawing attention away from the focal points of the design or to be the focal point of the design.
